Staff from Blackpool Hospitals NHS Trust and Special Schools in Lancashire last week jointly attended an educationally accredited “ Moving and Handling” risk assessor and trainers course to learn how to conduct risk assessments then deliver training to staff in how to move and handle young people. The course comprised of special needs teachers, a paediatric occupational therapist, a paediatric physiotherapist, a paediatric nursing sister so all were able to learn together and share experiences and ideas for meeting the needs of young people needing assistance with being moved and handled.
