Today West Midlands Ambulance Trust took delivery of its 400th bariatric sized unique carry sheet. Unique because of the foot pocket that allows a casualty to be moved either supine or semi recumbent ( design protected) so people needing to be kept sat up e.g. with breathing problems or being taken down staircases will not be compromised. Along with the ergonomically designed handles the postures of handlers is not compromised. Ambulance crews also place stretchers inside the carry sheet and by doing so have better control and postures than doing so without. The bariatric and standard sized unique carry sheets are now also used by the police, special schools and other organisations. More details on our web site
