Course Overview
We have been a key training partner providing tailored training programmes to many private and public ambulance services transport, and universities throughout the U.K for over 30 years.
Our training has evolved since our initial engagement on this topic when we were approached by West Midland Ambulance Trust who had a requirement to train every member of staff on how to avoid, resolve or control conflict situations. This training was extremely successful and resulted in a 31% reduction in reported incidents relating to staff being abused, threatened, or assaulted at work in the subsequent two years.
Solutions are a progressive company, our aim is to continuously evolve and enhance our training programmes and delivery methods to provide our customers with thorough, cost effective training solutions. We believe conflict resolution training is important as it significantly reduces workplace conflicts and associated costs, leading to a healthier work environment and mitigated financial losses.
In 2022 Solutions developed and added our Disengagement/Holding Skills video element to our offering. This addition to our training portfolio has been well received by our customers. It teaches staff the correct techniques to manage conflict situations safely.
We also offer online training courses, including our CPDUK accredited Conflict Resolution course, which provides practical skills essential for managing conflict within organisations of all sizes.

Course Structure and Overview
Our conflict resolution training course is designed to provide individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to resolve conflicts effectively. The course is structured into three sections:

- Section 3: Managing Conflict: This section provides training on managing conflict, including how to prevent conflicts from arising, how to resolve conflicts in a timely and effective manner, and how to maintain positive relationships. Participants will learn strategies to manage and de-escalate conflicts, ensuring a well-managed conflict environment.
Disengagement/Holding Techniques Training Aid Videos
Our videos have been developed and directed by Police and Ambulance professionals to be used as a supporting aid for trainers and trainees that have attended conflict resolution training courses. Each video is designed to show the physical technique along with guidance on how to execute a safe breakaway for each scenario.
A bite assault:
Technique Objective:
- A bite can be extremely painful and potentially inflict serious injury
- The object of this technique is to limit the level of injury from a bite
- The technique can lessen the effect of the bite by preventing or minimising the tearing/pulling of skin which causes the most serious injuries
Technique:
- Press your arm or body part being bitten as hard as you can into the other person’s mouth
- Exert as much pressure as possible on the rear of the person’s head
- If/when the bite is released remove your arm/body part and move away
These videos will be provided to attendees of any of our courses free of charge. They will also be available to all trainers that attend any of our train the training programmes to assist them with the redelivery of their internal conflict resolution training sessions to their learners.

Conflict Resolution Training & Violence & Aggression Training Certificates
Upon completion of our conflict resolution training course, individuals will receive a conflict resolution training certificate. This certificate is recognised by employers and demonstrates that the individual has the skills and knowledge needed to resolve conflicts effectively. The certificate includes:
- The individual’s name and title
- The name of the course and the date of completion
- A statement of the skills and knowledge gained during the course
- A unique certificate number and verification code
This certification not only validates the individual’s expertise in conflict resolution but also enhances their professional credentials, making them more valuable assets to their organisations.
