We have returned to COVID safe train the trainer courses in Moving and Handling. The picture shows Clinical Support Officers from Northern Ireland Ambulance Trust attending the four day “Moving People” Level 3 accredited “Moving and Handling Trainers programme for the emergency services sector” This programme being on the regulated qualifications framework. The key learning outcomes are that they can return to the workplace and train staff in moving and handling techniques that are safe, comfortable and dignified for patients and reduce the risks of injury to ambulance staff, that they can conduct formal manual handling risk assessments as required by law and learn how to effectively instruct others in these skills. All achieved in just four intensive days. In addition, they take away “amazing” (to quote one participant) “Moving People” 100 per cent ambulance specific training materials that include filmed scenarios for the staff they train to problem solve around in addition to trainee workbooks. To date Solutions have trained over 1,000 trainers in the U.K. and Irish Ambulance sectors since launching the “Moving People” programme way back in 1997.
