Some of the staff in this picture from the London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames and SKANSKA have been trained by Solutions for twenty consecutive years on how to safely transport pupils with both physical and learning disabilities to and from school. Training has included emergency first aid, safer moving and handling and managing challenging behaviour. Many of them receiving the customised BTEC qualification ” Transporting People with Special Needs” developed uniquely for this sector by Solutions in the late 90’s. The picture shows this group shortly after attending their annual two hour update on the safe administration of personally prescribed rescue medication for passengers suffering from major epileptic fits.
